On 20 May 2026, we brought together colleagues, students, alumni, partners and other interested parties for an inspiring day centred on the theme ‘Together we shape the future of IT’.
With fascinating and surprising keynote speeches – including one by Inti De Ceukelaire – we gained new insights into the world of AI, cybersecurity and digital developments. At the same time, our colleagues made a valuable and substantive contribution with sessions on the five transformative technologies. It was wonderful to see how much knowledge, innovation and energy there is within Fontys ICT.
The atmosphere was open and energetic, with plenty of opportunity to meet and mingle. Meaningful conversations took place and new connections were forged between guests from the worlds of education, the professional field and research.
In short: an inspiring, valuable and, above all, enjoyable day for everyone who attended. Thanks to all the speakers, organisers and participants who made this possible!
Also that day, the symposium ‘Practice-oriented research in higher professional education 2026’ brought together lecturers, researchers, professionals and innovators at the Fontys Rachelsmolen campus in Eindhoven for an inspiring day dedicated to exploring the value and impact of practice-oriented research in higher education.
One of the highlights of the morning programme was the engaging panel discussion, in which leading figures from higher professional education shared their vision for the future of practice-oriented research. The discussion centred on how research can have a meaningful societal impact, strengthen educational innovation and promote collaboration between the academic world and professional practice.
