Last week, Fontys ICT alumnus Moussa Adoum Moustapha, a recent graduate of Fontys ICT and participant in the SPARC Incubator programme, presented the book by Dr Michel Boukar, former Minister of Technology and Telecommunications in Chad, to Joep Houterman, chairman of the Executive Board of Fontys.
The book, *The Impact of Digitalisation on Rural e-African Economies*, explores the impact of digitalisation and artificial intelligence on rural economies in Africa, with a particular focus on agriculture.
Boukar had brought the book along for the students and lecturers at Fontys. Joep responded enthusiastically and explained that he himself had worked in Africa in the past and knows the continent well.
This provided a great opportunity for an interesting conversation about digitalisation, Africa and education.
