Looking back at the alumni event

On 13 March, more than 75 alumni gathered in the Fontys ICT innovation lab at TQ. Also present was our very first alumnus (graduated in 1975!)  as well as a complete Fontys ICT alumni family, of which every member once graduated with us (how special is that!).

All invitees were warmly welcomed and first enjoyed a good conversation and a well-prepared meal. They then joined the audience at the main stage for a short presentation by alumni coordinator Jo-An Kamp and a somewhat longer presentation by speaker Rens van der Vorst. The latter in particular drew hearty laughter.... although the serious undertone also got people thinking about the impact of technology on their own work and world view.

There were presentations by students and a VR Mario kart was driving around where alumni could take a seat themselves. Start-up and incubator colleague Frans Mouws wanted to show us a (by now somewhat older) video about how students used AI to unmask the mole in the programme 'Wie is de Mol' and thus not only made it to the broadcast, but also to various news media. In the end, they were so inspired that they also tried to predict the new coalition agreement using AI.

During the alumni event, the various stalls were also well attended. This gave visitors a good impression of the various possibilities in which you could re-establish ties with Fontys ICT:

- Master: Will you get your Master's degree with us too?

It was an evening that stayed with us for a long time... we are already looking forward to the next alumni event!
