FIRST LEGO League regional final at Fontys ICT

Last Saturday, 24 January, our R10 location was the bustling backdrop for the regional final of the FIRST® LEGO® League. More than 200 pupils from primary and secondary schools in the region came together for a day full of technology, creativity and teamwork.

Working in teams, the young people presented their innovation projects and let their self-built and programmed LEGO robots compete in exciting robot competitions. They had spent weeks working on solutions for a current social theme. In addition to technical skills, the focus was also on collaboration, creative thinking and presentation.

Visitors not only enjoyed the competitions, but could also participate in an interactive side programme with workshops and activities related to AI, robotics and digital games.

The day ended festively with an award ceremony. The two best teams qualified for the national final on 14 March 2026 in Groningen. It was an inspiring day on which young technological talent could shine.
