At the end of each semester, ICT students present their projects during Innovations Insight, Fontys ICT's showcase event, which attracts industry experts keen to see what they have been working on. In Tilburg, Innovations Insight took place at MindLabs. In addition to projects from Fontys ICT, students from Fontys Journalism and Futures Lab also presented their work here. For example, one Fontys ICT project focused on improving the image of Tilburg North by spreading real stories throughout the city via QR codes; an idea that the municipality wants to develop further. Another project involved a working, AI-supported planning application for Amarant, tailored to both care recipients and care providers. In Eindhoven, no fewer than 135 projects were presented at the Fontys ICT InnovationLab on themes such as AI & Data, Immersive Technologies, Smart Systems and Cyber Security, themes that are of great significance to the Brainport region. There was also room for creativity, including a chaotic party game in which four players, as rats, prepare dishes unseen in a gigantic kitchen. SPARC Awards: tech talent wins awards Innovations Insight concludes each semester with the renowned SPARC Awards: a festive occasion where the best and most innovative projects are honoured in three categories: technical innovation, social impact and creativity. The winning projects came from all corners of the ICT domain and demonstrated not only how much tech talent there is in the region, but also how powerfully education can contribute to society.
