On Saturday afternoon, 7 March, Tilburg-based data artist and Fontys ICT alumnus Erik Driessen ('12) will take you on a journey through his interpretation of Haruki Murakami. Erik explores alternative scenarios for data and technology in contemporary society.
His work, which data do I show when I show data about Haruki Murakami, translates the Japanese author's stories into a series of soothing animations and illustrations. The images form a unique representation of the ideas in Murakami's mind.
The work includes his five major novels: 1Q84, Killing Commendatore, The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Kafka on the Shore and The City and Its Unstable Walls.
The complete series of data illustrations will be on display from 7 March to 28 March in the display window of Boekhandel Livius de Zevensprong bookshop in Tilburg.
The works are also for sale.
Are you in the neighbourhood or passing by? Don't forget to take a look in the window!
