Personal data we process
Fontys ICT processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide them to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data we process:
- First and last name
- Telephone number
- E-mail address
- Other personal data that you actively provide, for example by creating a profile on this website, in correspondence or by telephone.

For what purpose and on what basis we process personal data
Fontys ICT processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- Sending a newsletter and/or sending invitations
- Calling or emailing you if necessary in order to be able to carry out our services
- Offering you the possibility to create an account

How long we retain personal data
Fontys ICT will not retain your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes for which your data is collected. The data
we keep indefinitely, this in connection with your lifelong relationship with Fontys ICT. You always have the option to delete your account.

Sharing personal data with third parties
Fontys ICT will only provide third parties and only if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal
obligation.

How we secure personal data
Fontys ICT takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted
disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you have the impression that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact our customer service or via fontysict-alumni@fontys.nl.

Viewing, correcting or deleting data
You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You can do this yourself via the personal settings of your account. You also have the right to withdraw your possible consent to data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by our company, and you have the right to data portability. This means you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we hold on you in a computer file to you or another organisation named by you. If you wish to exercise your right of objection and/or right to data portability, or if you have other questions/comments about data processing, please send a specified request to fontysict-alumni@fontys.nl.

To ensure that the request for inspection is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity along with the request. In this copy, black out your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is for the protection of your privacy. Fontys ICT will respond to your request as soon as possible, but in any event within four weeks.

For independent supervision of the protection of personal data, we have a data protection officer. If you have any questions about how Fontys handles your personal data, please contact by e-mail:

- the Fontys Customer Contact Centre or
- the Fontys ISP Office (Information Security & Privacy Office).

We will respond to your request in writing as soon as possible, but within four weeks at the latest.

"What is a cookie?
We use cookies on this website. A cookie is a simple small file sent with pages of this website and stored by your browser on your device (computer/phone/tablet). The information stored therein can be sent back to our servers on your next visit."

‘Use of persistent cookies
Permanent cookies allow us to recognise you when you visit our website again. This allows the website to be set specifically to your preferences. Even if you have given permission for cookies to be placed, we can remember this by means of a cookie. This saves you having to keep repeating your preferences, thus saving you time and making our website more enjoyable to use. Permanent cookies can be deleted via your browser settings.’

A session cookie allows us to see which parts of the website you have viewed with this visit. This allows us to adapt our service as much as possible to the browsing behaviour of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted as soon as you close your web browser.’

Through our website, a cookie is set by the US company Google, as part of the ‘Analytics’ service. We use this service to track and receive reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or insofar as third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this. We have not allowed Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

The information collected by Google is anonymised as much as possible. Your IP address is expressly not included. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Standard Contractual Clauses are therefore part of Google's terms and conditions.’

‘Social media
Our website includes buttons to promote (‘like’) or share (‘tweet’) web pages on social networks such as Facebook and X (formerly: Twitter). These buttons work by means of pieces of code originating from Facebook and X respectively. Cookies are placed by means of this code. We have no influence on this. Please read the privacy statement of Facebook and Twitter respectively (which may change regularly) to read what they do with your (personal) data that they process via these cookies.’
